Types of Backpacks

• Waist Packs, Hip Packs, Lumber Packs & Fanny Packs Used similar to backpacks but for short hikes. They sometimes look similar to a pouch and belt. Its light weight and carry a limited amount of small items make it an easy bag to carry for short trips.
• Hydration Packs Usually included inside a normal backpack. A hydration pack is stored inside the back part of the backpack and comes with a long tube that feeds water to the user. Great for long distance travelling and can also come in small backpacks used for cycling.
• Day Packs For short use or short day trips, usually comes with a shoulder strap and have a chest strap to prevent the bag from pulling you back.
• Midsize Packs Usually smaller than a conventional backpack but large enough to carry small to medium sized items. Great for hiking and travelling for longer periods. Can also come with expendable section that unzips allowing extra storage.
• Expedition Backpacks or Hiking Backpacks Usually full size backpacks that can come in various sizes from 45L to 80L packs. Usually designed to carry very heavy loads and large items. It comes with great lumber and back protection. Waist straps to hold the pack up. Ideal for very long trips, expeditions and long distance travelers.
