What are Braces (Suspenders)

Suspenders otherwise known as braces (British) are straps used to hold up your trousers. Both men and women can wear braces and is usually made from elastic materials. Braces are most commonly attached to trousers with buttons and the use of leather tabs on each end.

History of Braces

Braces appeared over 300 years ago but the most modern type was invented by Albert Thurston in 1822. It was most commonly used because the fashion back then consisted of high cut trousers but became unpopular after the first World War.
