What Types of Purses Are There?

The use of purses dates back as far as the 14th century and was not as trendy as they are today. In the past they were not as popular or widely used as women do today. In fact today we have so many different versions of purses and styles you will never get board shopping.

• Baguette - Not the French bread but the purse that is shaped after the bread. First made popular by Fendi, it comes with a short shoulder strap and is medium in size.
• Kelly Bag by Hermes - A classic purse made famous by Grace Kelly a famous actress. Hermes named this bag after Grace Kelly after the film Princess of Monaco became famous.
• Box Purse - Made popular in the 50s and looks like a cigar box and is shaped as a box. Usually made from Perspex.
• Bucket Style Purse - Was first seen in 1933 and was a popular fashion accessory for the rich. Similar to a bucket shape, this style of purse is still popular today.
• The Murse or Manbag - Is a purse made for men and is quite popular in today's fashion.
• Pouch - A small purse with a drawstring. Designed to be warn underneath your clothing during the 1900s.
